Holiday Order Deadlines & Shipping Information

Christmas 2011 Order Deadlines and Information:

• Our facility is located in Southern California
• In-stock items ship from our facility within one business day*
• When UPS Next Day or UPS 2 Day shipping is selected, we do our utmost to ship the same business day the order is received, if it is received by 11am pacific time. Sometimes we can ship same-day for later orders, but it is best to call us rather than assume†.
• Last day to order using free USPS shipping is Dec.
19
• Last day to order using UPS 2Day shipping ($15)is Dec 21
• Last day to order using UPS Overnight shipping ($25) is Dec 22
Last day to order using UPS Overnight-with-Saturday-delivery shipping ($35) is Dec. 23

Order cutoff time is 11am for each of these dates, although later orders may be accommodated if you call us to confirm.

*You can determine if an item is in stock on the item's product page. If the product page reads "in stock, typically ships within one business day" under "Status" in the "Specifications" column to the right of the product's photo, and you can add it to your shopping cart, then the item is in stock! Of course, you are welcome to call us to confirm if you like - you can reach us toll-free at 888-869-8889 from 7am to 8pm pacific time. And remember that rings ordered in sizes other than "stock" need 2-3 business days for sizing!


†We need one business day to fill your order because 99% of our items are made to order. For instance, our pearl strands (individually photographed, so you know exactly what you will receive) are offered with a variety of different clasps so the customer can select white gold, yellow gold, etc. This means that once the order is received, our jeweler needs to knot the strand with the clasp you select. This takes time. Almost all of our items offer these types of options/customer selectability. Business days are Monday through Friday.

‡ It is up to you, the customer, to determine whether UPS offers Saturday delivery to your area. Some areas are deemed "remote" by UPS and Saturday delivery is not offered.


Shipping Charges for shipments within U.S.A.:

• We are currently offering free USPS first class shipping on all orders, regardless of the order total!

• UPS 2 Business Day insured shipping is available for $15 per order regardless of the number or value of the items.

• UPS Next Business Day insured shipping is available for $25.

• UPS Next Day with Saturday delivery (Friday to Saturday shipping) or UPS Next Business Day with Saturday pick-up (Saturday for Monday) is available for $35.

• Insured USPS Express Mail is available for $22. Express mail includes Saturday delivery (even Sunday in some areas). Express mail is guaranteed next day delivery to many parts of the country. An additional $10 charge applies to UPS and Fedex shipments to Alaska and Hawaii (charged by UPS/Fedex).

SHIPPING TIME MUST BE ADDED TO THE TIME NEEDED TO FILL YOUR ORDER (typically one business day, unless otherwise noted on the product page).

Items purchased using free shipping option that are subsequently returned are refunded the merchandise value less a $7 fee.

International shipping:

International buyers should contact us for a shipping quote, as not all carrier services are available to all countries. If you contact us for a shipping quote, please add customerservice@tahitianpearls.biz to your "trusted" or "allowed" contacts list. Otherwise you may not receive our email reply. We will ship internationally for actual USPS or FedEx cost, including insurance charges.  Customs duties are the responsibility of the buyer. Shipping costs typically range from $20 to $70, depending on the carrier. All prices on our website are in US dollars, as are international shipping cost estimates.
Sales tax: 

We do not collect sales tax for items shipped to addresses outside the state of California.
We collect 7.75% California state sales tax for items shipped to California addresses.

Important shipping notes, terms and conditions:
Most orders ship within one business day (M-F) of placing an order. If you require same-day shipping, please call us at 888-869-8889 to place you order so you can be sure that we can indeed ship your item same day. Please note that rings ordered in sizes other than "stock" require an additional 1-2 business days for our jeweler to perform the sizing step. Also, some items note a 2-3 day order fulfillment time on the product page under the product specifics (the section called "Status" will read "In stock, typically ships in 2-3 business days") . Sized rings are subject to a restocking fee and the sizing charge is also non-refundable.

If you choose UPS/Fedex/Express Mail shipping, please be aware that these carriers have exceptions to their delivery guarantees for weather-related delays, etc ("force majeur"). If there is a delay in the absence of force majeur, we will attempt to obtain a partial refund for you, but only USPS reliably gives refunds for failing to meet a delivery guarantee in the absence of force majeur.

If you select 2nd Day/ Next Day/ Express shipping it is your responsibility to make sure someone is there to sign for the package. Our shipments are always sent with insurance, and insured packages require signature upon delivery. UPS/Fedex deliver Monday-Friday; Saturday delivery is available for Next Day packages for a $10 additional charge. Saturday pickup of UPS/Fedex packages also requires an additional $10 charge (this is charged by the courier, not by us). Keep in mind that only standard delivery days (M-F) count toward the shipping time (e.g., 2nd Day packages shipped on Friday are delivered on Tuesday).

UPS/Fedex will make three attempts to deliver the package. If no one is there to receive the package on any of those three attempts, it will be held at the local UPS/Fedex facility for 5 days and you will need to pick it up there (you will receive a card with instructions). If you fail to receive the package during one of the delivery attempts, and if you fail to pick up the package at the local facility in the subsequent 5 days, the package will be shipped back to us at your expense. If we receive your package by return shipping because you were not available for delivery, you will be credited the amount of the original purchase less shipping cost to you and shipping cost back to us (two shipping charges), since the carrier will charge us for shipping the package in both directions.

Our standard shipping is by USPS first class insured mail. There is no guaranteed timeframe for delivery, although most packages are delivered within 7 working days. Signature is required for delivery, so if no one is there to receive the package, your mail carrier will leave you a postcard telling you where to pick up the package, or how to arrange for redelivery.

If you want us to send a shipment by UPS/Fedex with no signature required, please contact us to place your order. This is possible in some cases, but you need to be aware that there is no insurance, and loss of the package subsequent to UPS/Fedex pickup scan (scan of the package when we give it to a UPS/Fedex agent) is considered your loss and not subject to refund of merchandise price or Visa/Mastercard/Amex/Discover chargeback.

We reserve the right to upgrade the shipping method selected by a customer (for instance we may opt to send a package where the customer selected USPS first class shipping by UPS 2 Day instead). These upgrades are solely at our discretion and are free of charge of course!
